Production Records

Prepare a production-record draft from menu information, then record and verify what actually occurred.

What Are Production Records?

Production records document the meals actually served each day, including quantities prepared, participation counts, and any substitutions made.

Record requirements vary by program and authority. Confirm the form, fields, and retention period required by your sponsor or state agency.

Prepared Record Drafts

If record generation is available, a draft may include:

  • Menu items with serving sizes
  • Entered or estimated component information for review
  • Spaces for actual quantities prepared
  • Participant tracking sections
  • Substitution documentation areas

Print and Complete

If you prepare a record in advance, update it with what was actually prepared and served. Confirm whether your sponsor or state agency accepts the chosen format.
